To capitalize on an existing NFL storyline – the Cleveland Browns’ 2-year losing streak – Bud Light strategically placed ten “Victory Fridges” of Bud Light in the Cleveland metro area. The fridges remained locked until the Browns finally won a game. After sparking conversation on social with photos of the fridges, the brand let consumers do most of the talking. The campaign generated a segment on The Late Show, a tweet from the Cleveland Police Department, and even a mention from the Brown’s star player. In Cleveland, you couldn’t talk about the streak ending without mentioning the Bud Light Victory Fridge.
