The world is a lot smarter, yet too many people still make the dumb decision to drink and drive. To drive brand affinity & promote smart drinking initiatives, we re-created & modernized the iconic Whassup Up ad & partnered with Uber to give Canadians $10 off their ride home. We re-cast the iconic Whassup Up on its 20th anniversary by replacing the actual characters with smart devices frame by frame. To launch the campaign, we teased the concept by using one of the original actors, had an OOH buy (IF BUDWEISER THEN UBER), and celebrated throwback Thursday with the original Whassup ad. Lastly, we leveraged Ubers owned assets to further promote the partnership including in app integration & a first ”tweet to unlock” the Uber code on twitter during Super Bowl.
